GreenBuilding

GreenBuilding is an EU initiative which aims to motivate property owners to perform energy inventories and take measures to reduce energy consumption. In order to obtain a so-called GreenBuilding certification, the property owner has to show that the house is energy efficient and saves more than 25 per cent.

The requirements for existing buildings that have been or will be conversed must, after the conversion, use 25 per cent less energy than before the renovation. Actions performed during the last five years may be included. For new buildings, 25 per cent less energy must be used than building regulations require.

Methodology:

  • Perform energy inventory.
  • Develop an action plan and implement it.
  • Annual reporting to the Swedish Property Federation and the EU.

Up until 2010, Fabege has had two properties GreenBuilding certified; the latest property is Päronet 8 in Solna.
